[Financial News] NHN Dooray has won the Personal Information Protection Commission Chairperson’s Award at the 2026 Personal Information Protection and Utilization Technology Awards. The company was recognized for demonstrating that businesses can use collaboration features and the latest AI technologies at work without security concerns, at a time when many companies are hesitant to adopt AI because of security risks.
Industry sources said on the 1st that the 2026 Personal Information Protection and Utilization Technology Awards were newly established this year by the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC), the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), the Korea Council of Personal Information Protection Officers and other organizations. The awards aim to promote the spread of outstanding personal information protection technologies that support prevention-centered protection systems and strengthen cooperation within the industry. Three companies, including NHN Dooray, received the PIPC Chairperson’s Award at this year’s ceremony.
NHN Dooray received high marks for applying a three-layer protection architecture—infrastructure, outbound-data control and usage control—to its all-in-one AI collaboration tool, Dooray!, embedding personal information protection from the design stage. Dooray! connects to the latest large language models (LLMs) through application programming interface (API) calls, so it is not tied to a specific model. It also does not use customer data for training or store it. In addition, its existing data loss prevention (DLP) guardrails block sensitive information from entering at the AI input stage.
In the public sector, NHN Dooray obtained standard-tier Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) certification, administered by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). In the financial sector, it passed the Financial Security Institute’s safety assessment for cloud service providers (CSPs). Dooray! is the only domestic collaboration software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider to have passed both institutions’ evaluations.
NHN Dooray supplies Dooray! to about 150 public institutions. It also launched the service at the Ministry of National Defense under the name “Gukbangieum.” The company plans to expand the service to 300,000 personnel across the armed forces by the end of this year.
Dooray! was designated as an innovative financial service by the Financial Services Commission (FSC), together with Woori Financial Group, becoming the first domestic SaaS service to receive the designation. In about a year and a half, the service has been supplied to the internal networks of all 17 affiliates of Woori Financial Group, as well as those of more than 30 financial institutions.
NHN Dooray has obtained the highest-tier STAR Gold rating in the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA)’s authoritative international cloud security assessment.
