[Financial News] Naver Pay will apply the corporate data held by the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT) to its Naver Pay Startup platform, strengthening connections between promising startups and venture companies and investors.
Naver Pay announced on the 1st that it had signed an MOU with KODIT and kodebox on September 30 to promote the Naver Pay Startup platform and create a venture capital ecosystem.
Naver Pay Startup is an investment platform that connects startups and venture companies with innovative technologies and growth potential to investors. Naver Pay and kodebox have been operating it on a pilot basis since July.
The platform provides investment institutions, including securities firms, venture capital firms (VCs), and new technology business finance companies, with corporate information and artificial intelligence (AI)-based summaries to make it easier to explore company and investment-related details. For startups, it has established a foundation for connecting them with multiple investors by allowing them to register investor relations (IR) information.
Under the agreement, the corporate data and network of promising companies held by KODIT will be linked to the Naver Pay Startup platform and its investor touchpoints. The initiative is designed to increase the chances that promising startups and venture companies with strong growth potential will be discovered by a broader range of investors.
First, KODIT's corporate database (DB), management assessment information, and network of companies receiving guarantees will be applied to Naver Pay Startup. Naver Pay and kodebox will use the information for corporate and investment information services within the platform.
The parties will also establish a mutual data cooperation system so that companies seeking investment, investors, and related information secured through Naver Pay Startup can be used by KODIT to identify and assess companies and support investment matching. This will organically link the corporate and investment-related information and capabilities accumulated by each organization.
Jae-Park Jo, Naver Pay's chief business officer, said, "Through this agreement, we will combine KODIT's corporate data and network of promising companies with Naver Pay Startup's platform and investor touchpoints to create diverse investment opportunities for startups and venture companies." He added, "We will continue to contribute to the development of the venture capital ecosystem through cooperation with various institutions."
