[Financial News] As demand for camping, outings and ready-to-eat meals is expected to rise during the extended holiday following Chuseok, Lotte Mart is holding its 'Tongkeun Day' promotion, offering discounts on fresh foods, ready-to-eat meals and household goods.
According to industry sources on the 1st, Lotte Mart will hold its October Tongkeun Day promotion for five days, from today through the 5th. The promotion lineup includes meat, ramen and snacks, fall seasonal fruit, ready-to-eat meals and household goods to meet holiday demand.
For camping and outings, Lotte Mart will offer discounts on U.S. beef, pork belly, pork shoulder and seasoned meat. Ramen and snacks will also be featured in a separate promotion over the weekend.
After the holiday, apples and sweet persimmons with uneven appearances and sizes but good marketability will be offered as 'shared-growth' products. Other fall seasonal fruits, including soft persimmons, Shine Muscat grapes and apple jujubes, are also part of the promotion.
The deli section will launch 'Gangyeot Ggudeok Dakgangjeong,' a revamped version of the existing 'Gangyeot Dakgangjeong.' Based on the original product, which has sold more than 6 million packs since its launch in 2017, the new version uses chicken thigh meat and gangyeot sauce while enhancing its crisp texture.
Discounts will also be offered on ready-to-eat foods such as soups, stews, frozen pizzas, hot dogs and tteokbokki, as well as household goods including pans, pots, camping equipment and bedding.
Shim Young-jun, head of the Promotion Marketing Team at Lotte Mart and Super, said, "As early October is a time when grocery shopping needs diversify in conjunction with the extended holiday, we have put together a broad selection of promotional products so that both customers planning outdoor activities and those who want to enjoy convenient meals at home can benefit."
