[Financial News] Busan Metropolitan City Government will operate a Citizen Jury Panel to reflect residents' voices in the process of drawing up a pledge implementation plan for the ninth popularly elected mayoral term.
Busan Metropolitan City Government said it would appoint the Citizen Jury Panel at the main conference room of Busan City Hall on the afternoon of the 1st.
The Citizen Jury Panel will directly involve residents in reviewing the appropriateness and feasibility of the pledge implementation plan and proposing improvements to the pledges from the citizens' perspective. It consists of 50 residents aged 18 or older who were randomly selected through an automated response system (ARS) and telephone interviews, taking into account the population proportions by gender, age and region.
The panel will review 20 key pledges, selected directly by citizens from 30 pledges with a high level of public impact, as the final evaluation targets.
Starting with its first meeting on that day, the Citizen Jury Panel will hold three meetings at two-week intervals over approximately one month.
The first meeting will begin with training to strengthen the jurors' capabilities, followed by an appointment certificate presentation ceremony and the formation of working groups. At the second meeting, the relevant departments will explain each pledge and answer questions. During the third meeting, the panel will hold working-group discussions and a plenary session before drawing up its final recommendations.
Busan Metropolitan City Government plans to publish the pledge implementation plan in advance on its official website on the 8th.
The city will then review the pledges with the Citizen Jury Panel and refine the implementation plan based on its recommendations.
