Kim Jong Un Tells Xi Jinping "Blood Alliance Remains Unchanged" in China National Day Message

[Financial News] North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong Un again emphasized the countries' blood alliance in a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping on October 1, China's National Day marking the founding of the country. Although the National Intelligence Service (NIS) assessed that there was a 50% chance Kim would hold talks with U.S. President Donald Trump in November, he remains focused solely on closer ties between North Korea and China.
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim said in the message, "The history of North Korea-China friendship, forged in blood and carried on through genuine comradely friendship, can never change course, regardless of how the international situation changes."
He added, "I reaffirm my position to actively work to guide North Korea-China relations, which have deep historical roots, to a new strategic level; firmly safeguard the common interests of our two countries; protect peace and stability in the region; and provide greater prosperity for the peoples of both countries."
He also referred to his summit meetings with Xi in Beijing last September and Pyongyang this June.
He stated, "I reaffirmed my position and resolve to develop the firm and special North Korea-China friendship, forged through shared ideology and life-and-death solidarity, into the strongest and most strategic relationship between socialist countries, oriented toward a shared and beautiful future."
Kim's China National Day message was about 500 characters in 2024, when North Korea-China relations were in a lull amid closer North Korea-Russia ties. It grew to around 800 characters last year and expanded to about 1,100 characters this year.
