[Financial News] Buick, which has officially entered the Korean market, is expanding its customer reach nationwide with its first model, the Buick Electra E7. Starting in Seoul, the company will successively open pop-up stores in Busan, Hanam-si and Daejeon, offering everything from vehicle displays to product and purchase consultations in one place. The strategy is aimed at rapidly raising brand awareness in Korea and establishing Buick in the initial market.
General Motors Korea announced on the 1st that it will operate Buick's first pop-up store at the South Atrium of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul, from the 2nd to the 4th. It will then meet customers at Shinsegae Centum City in Busan from the 9th to the 11th, the South Atrium of Starfield Hanam-si in Gyeonggi Province from the 15th to the 18th, and Galleria Department Store Landmark Square in Daejeon from the 23rd to the 25th.
The Buick Electra E7, Buick's first model in Korea, will be displayed at each pop-up store. Docents and automotive specialists will be on-site to explain the vehicle's design concept, interior space and key features. They will also provide product and purchase consultations, along with information about pre-orders.
The company has also prepared programs for customer participation. These include a docent program featuring expert explanations of the vehicle, a brand quiz, the 'My Buick Card' program for collecting Buick logo stamps, a lucky roulette for customers who place pre-orders, and social media events. Customers who participate in the programs will receive commemorative gifts, including reusable bags, umbrellas, tumblers and carry-on bags.
The Buick Electra E7 is Buick's first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sport utility vehicle (SUV) introduced to the Korean market. Combining a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a 165 kW drive motor, it can travel up to 126 km on battery power alone. When the engine and electric motor are used together, its combined driving range exceeds 1,000 km. It also supports DC fast charging, which can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in about 20 minutes, as well as V2L functionality.
Following a media conference on September 30, Buick also held a launch event attended by about 100 VIP customers. At the event, the company introduced actor Wi Ha-joon as the Buick Electra E7 ambassador. He is expected to participate in content and activities promoting the brand and the vehicle's design and convenience features.
Starting with these nationwide pop-up stores, Buick plans to continue expanding opportunities for consumers to experience the brand and its products firsthand. Founded in 1903, Buick is GM's global premium brand. After officially entering the Korean market this year, it plans to gradually expand its product portfolio in Korea, beginning with the Buick Electra E7.
