[Financial News] Six applicants have made it to the final interview after beating 5,000-to-1 odds. But there are no interviewers in the room to ask questions. In front of observation cameras installed all around them, they must choose the sole successful candidate themselves.
The job-interview film 'Final Interview' will be released on the 4th of next month. It is directed by Kim Jung-hoon and stars Cho Yi-hyun, Kim Jae-won, Shin Seung-ho, Kang You-seok, Kwak Dong-yeon and Bae Gang-hee.
Observation Cameras and a Two-Hour Time Limit
The film is set against the open recruitment process of a global IT company called 'Spira Links.' The applicants have spent a month preparing team discussion assignments together and building camaraderie, leading them all to expect to be hired. But on the day of the final interview, they receive an unexpected task. They have two hours. Faced with the condition that only one of their teammates can be hired, cracks begin to appear in their relationships.
The applicants become both subjects of evaluation and evaluators of one another. They can open the door and leave at any time, but doing so means losing their chance of being hired. The interview room is effectively a sealed space in which they choose to remain for the sake of employment. As time runs out, the red lights on the cameras heighten their anxiety.
They choose an open vote to determine the successful candidate. Because it becomes clear who voted for whom, the process sparks a battle of wits, alliances and betrayals among the applicants. Then mysterious envelopes of unknown origin are discovered, turning the interview into a battle of revelations. Each time an envelope is opened, a secret not included on the applicants' résumés comes to light, and facts stripped of their context are used as grounds for eliminating rivals.
Cho Yi-hyun Plays Moon Hye-in, an Applicant Who Conceals Anxiety Beneath Her Composure
Cho Yi-hyun plays Moon Hye-in, one of the applicants. She appears to step back and observe the situation, but acts first at decisive moments. While competing with her colleagues for the single available position, she calmly observes their reactions to the mysterious envelopes and continues to make her judgments.
Cho Yi-hyun played familiar characters in the drama 'Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia' and the film 'Ditto,' then showed a blend of cool-headedness and anxiety as Nam-ra in 'All of Us Are Dead.' She later appeared in historical and fantasy productions, including 'The Matchmakers' and 'Head Over Heels.' This time, she meets audiences as a young person repeatedly forced to make choices amid intense competition for employment.
Cho Yi-hyun explained through the production company why she joined the project, saying, "When I first read the screenplay, what appealed to me most was the desire to take on a character with a personality I had never played before." She added that the cast repeatedly rehearsed together and developed Moon Hye-in through discussions with the director.
Director Kim Jung-hoon described Cho Yi-hyun as an actress capable of expressing a bright and approachable side, clear personal convictions and anxiety all at once. He cited her ability to reveal emotions calmly while creating subtle distinctions as one of her strengths in the role of Moon Hye-in.
