With demand for AI memory, led by high-bandwidth memory (HBM), outstripping supply, its earnings outlook for the next quarter also exceeded Wall Street expectations.
Micron said on the 30th (local time) that revenue for its fiscal fourth quarter reached $54.23 billion, nearly quadrupling from $11.32 billion a year earlier. It also exceeded the market estimate of $51.07 billion.
Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) came to $33.42, above the market estimate of $31.61.
The strong results were driven by a surge in memory demand resulting from increased investment in AI data centers. Micron is the only major HBM manufacturer based in the United States and supplies products to NVIDIA and others.
Demand for HBM needed for AI computing is rising rapidly, pushing Micron's order volume far above its current production capacity.
Micron expects the AI memory boom to continue into the next quarter. It projected fiscal first-quarter revenue of $61.5 billion (±$1.5 billion), well above the market estimate of $57.02 billion. Its adjusted EPS guidance of $38.15 (±$1) also topped the market estimate of $35.40.
Micron's stock has surged more than 500% over the past year, driven by the AI memory boom.
