5-Ton Moving Truck Crashes into Building in Seongbuk District; Driver Seriously Injured, 3 Others Sustain Minor Injuries

[Financial News] Four people were injured when a 5-ton moving truck crossed the median barrier and crashed into the exterior wall of a building in Dongsomun-dong, Seongbuk District, Seoul.
According to police and fire authorities on the 30th, a 5-ton truck traveling on a road near the Seoul Theater Creation Center in Dongsomun-dong, Seongbuk District, crossed the median barrier at around 12:08 p.m. and collided with the exterior wall of a building on the opposite side of the road.
The driver, a man in his 60s, was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. He was reportedly able to communicate when he was found. The three other passengers also sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment and examinations.
Firefighters were dispatched after receiving the report and arrived at the scene at around 12:14 p.m. The driver was removed from the vehicle after a rescue operation, while the three passengers exited the truck on their own.
A total of 47 personnel, including 40 firefighters, were deployed at the scene. Fourteen vehicles, including 11 fire trucks, were also mobilized.
Part of the building's exterior wall was damaged in the crash, but no one inside the building was injured.
Police believe that no signs of drunk driving were found and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
