Kyung Hee University Ranks 237th in THE World University Rankings, Up 15 Places

[Financial News]  Kyung Hee University ranked 237th in the world in the 2027 Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE World University Rankings), released by Times Higher Education. It climbed 15 places from 252nd last year and ranked fifth among comprehensive universities in South Korea.
Kyung Hee University said on the 30th that 2297 universities from around the world participated in this year's evaluation. Its total score was 57.6, up 1.4 points from the previous year. Citation impact and internationalization indicators, in particular, drove the improvement.
The citation impact score was 80.3, up 3.8 points from the previous year. The average Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI), which measures the impact of papers after adjusting for differences by academic field and publication year, and FWCI at the upper-25% benchmark both improved.
The internationalization score rose 2.9 points to 75.4. The proportion of international collaborative research increased from 37.9% the previous year to 40.6%, a rise of 2.7 percentage points. The proportions of international faculty members and students were also reflected in the internationalization evaluation.
Kyung Hee University has continued efforts to recruit outstanding researchers and improve its research environment to strengthen its research competitiveness. Since 2009, it has operated the ES/IS (Eminent Scholar/International Scholar) program, which invites distinguished scholars from overseas. The university is also pursuing adjustments to faculty teaching loads, sabbaticals, the Kyung Hee Fellow program, and support for faculty and student research.
In addition, to improve research quality, the university is actively incorporating research achievements with high FWCI scores and papers published in leading academic journals into faculty evaluations. It is also expanding support for ES/IS international collaborative research, participation in international academic conferences, and interdisciplinary international collaborative research.
