[JAKARTA, Indonesia—Aulia Maulida Hamdani, Correspondent] Kia Malaysia’s sales subsidiary has established a centralized parts logistics center in Shah Alam, Selangor state, to strengthen its parts supply chain in Malaysia and improve the quality of customer service.
According to local media reports on the 30th, Kia Malaysia’s sales subsidiary, KSM, said it had established a centralized parts warehouse measuring approximately 1,858 square meters at One Logistics Hub in Shah Alam in cooperation with PKT Logistics Group.
Using the new logistics center, KSM aims to provide same-day parts deliveries in the Klang Valley and reduce the time required to supply parts to other regions of Malaysia. The company also improved its ordering and inventory management systems and said it has maintained 100% accuracy in parts deliveries since beginning operations.
With its recent expansion of parts supplies, KSM said it can now provide virtually all parts for currently sold vehicles, including maintenance, electrical, mechanical and body parts, as well as parts for previous models such as the Kia Forte, Kia Cerato, Kia Picanto, Kia Stinger, Kia Seltos, Kia Optima, Kia EV6 and Kia EV9, along with previous generations of the Kia Carnival, Kia Sportage and Kia Sorento.
Hyung Ho Kim, president of Kia Malaysia’s sales subsidiary, said, "Since launching the business, we have focused first on building the basic foundations, including parts supply and inventory management, dealer capabilities and service support. Building on this foundation, we are providing a more consistent customer experience and preparing for sustainable growth in the future."
KSM is also working with dealers to strengthen inventory management and establish a system for timely inventory replenishment. It has begun standardizing parts management and service procedures by providing training for dealer staff.
The company is also taking steps to reduce the burden of after-sales service costs. KSM cut the prices of genuine parts by an average of 15% in January this year. In May, it launched the Kia Maintenance Plan (KMP), a prepaid scheduled maintenance program that customers can join within up to 11 months of vehicle registration.
