Genians selected as one of Korea's Best Job-Creation Companies; pilots a four-and-a-half-day workweek using AI

[Financial News]  Genians has been selected as one of Korea's Best Job-Creation Companies in recognition of its efforts to expand hiring of young people and skilled professionals and operate flexible work arrangements. The company is also pursuing greater work efficiency through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and piloting a four-and-a-half-day workweek.
Genians announced on the 30th that it had been selected as one of the 2026 Korea Best Job-Creation Companies, a program overseen by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The program recognizes private-sector companies that lead efforts to create jobs, promote work-life balance and improve working conditions. Selected companies receive administrative and financial support, including preferential treatment in credit assessments and interest rates for lending support.
Genians said it was highly recognized for expanding recruitment focused on young people and skilled professionals, while operating flexible work arrangements and employee development programs. The company has increased hiring of young people for junior-level positions and selects employees based on job capabilities rather than factors such as educational background or gender. It also supports the use of parental and maternity leave.
Its work arrangements include staggered commuting hours, telecommuting and a Family Day program, under which employees leave work at noon on the third Friday of each month. Genians supports individual skills-development training, professional certifications and the cost of using AI services. It also reflects employees' views in its welfare programs through a labor-management council.
Genians is also participating in the 2026 Gyeonggi Province Four-and-a-Half-Day Workweek Pilot Project, organized by Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggido Job Foundation, and has been piloting a four-and-a-half-day workweek since August. The company aims to boost productivity while reducing working hours through AI-based work automation and improvements to work processes.
The company plans to apply AI to repetitive and standardized tasks so that employees can focus on creative and strategic work. Based on this approach, it also plans to expand hiring of talent in the IT and security fields.
