Restaurant Name Meaning 'the Downfall of Communism' Draws Demand from Chinese Customer to Change It

[Financial News]   The owner of a Chinese restaurant in Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, claimed that he received threatening remarks along with a demand to change the restaurant's name, which he said means "the downfall of communism."
According to Channel A on the 29th, the restaurant owner, identified only as Mr. A, was offered money by a Chinese customer the year before last if he changed the restaurant's name. When Mr. A refused, the man reportedly returned to the restaurant and made threatening remarks, saying, "Think of your family" and "Be careful."
According to Mr. A, the man introduced himself as someone dispatched from China and also suggested that other members of his group could visit the restaurant even if he did not return himself.
Mr. A later reported the man to the police. Last April, he reportedly withdrew the complaint after mediation by investigative authorities, on the condition that he receive 4.5 million won from the Chinese man.
Meanwhile, on the 24th, a Chinese restaurant in Bundang District, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, was attacked after using a business name reminiscent of the name of China's top leader. Four Chinese nationals are suspected of breaking into the restaurant and spraying lacquer and paint inside. They were found to have left for China on the day of the crime.
After identifying the four suspects, police applied for arrest warrants and launched an international cooperative investigation.
However, no connection has been confirmed between the case in which the Hwaseong City restaurant owner claimed to have been threatened and the attack on the restaurant in Bundang District.
