ChildFund Korea expands GPE education cooperation... promoting participation of domestic companies and foundations

[Financial News] ChildFund Korea is stepping up efforts to expand the participation of domestic companies, foundations, and public institutions in international education cooperation. It plans to connect the educational needs of partner countries with the resources and expertise of domestic institutions by utilizing a joint financing method.
According to ChildFund Korea, a child welfare organization, on the 30th, it attended the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) high-level event held in New York, USA, on the 23rd (local time). The event was organized in conjunction with the high-level week of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Governments, businesses, and non-profit organizations from various countries attended to discuss ways to transform the education system through increased investment in education and new collaborations.
ChildFund Korea participated as an official Grant Agent (GA) for GPE. Having obtained this qualification last February as the first non-profit organization in Asia to do so, it can participate not only in individual education projects but also in national-level educational cooperation.
At this event, ChildFund Korea presented its commitment to mid-to-long-term financial contributions to the education sector. The plan is to expand participation from various institutions by utilizing joint financing methods, such as the GPE Multiplier.
According to the Asian Development Bank (ADB)'s GPE cooperation data, the GPE Multiplier is a method that increases the overall scale of investment by linking GPE funds with externally secured educational resources. It is a structure that combines resources from multiple institutions to support education reform initiatives set by the governments of recipient countries.
ChildFund Korea is establishing a foundation to connect domestic partner organizations with education support projects. In the future, it plans to expand cooperation at the GPE level in line with national education priorities, such as basic learning, digital learning, and youth empowerment.
Baek Soon-jib, Head of the International Business Division at ChildFund Korea, said, "We will expand new opportunities for cooperation and build partnerships in the field of international education cooperation that can create long-term change beyond financial support."
