BTS's RM Donates 100 Million Won Toward National Museum of Korea Collection Purchases

[Financial News] BTS member RM donated 100 million won to help the National Museum of Korea acquire collection items.
The National Museum of Korea said on the 30th that RM (Kim Nam-joon) had donated the funds the previous day to the National Museum of Korea Association, an incorporated association that supports the museum. The association plans to use the funds to purchase collection items and donate them to the museum.
RM was appointed Global Ambassador for the National Museum of Korea in June. The donation is also part of his ongoing support for culture and the arts.
The association supports artifact acquisitions, academic sponsorship and facility development. In 2023, it purchased a Joseon-era mother-of-pearl box with a lotus-and-scroll design and donated it to the museum. In 2024, it acquired a cursive-script work by the master calligrapher Hwang Gi-ro and also donated it to the museum.
This model, in which support organizations purchase and donate artifacts, channels private-sector support for culture and the arts into expanding the National Museum of Korea's collection.
RM said, "I am pleased to be able to support the National Museum of Korea as its global ambassador. I will continue working with the museum to promote it and our culture."
