[Financial News] A forum was held to help companies proactively assess key labor risks and establish effective response systems amid a rapidly changing labor environment, including an overhaul of the labor inspection system in the second half of this year and enforcement of the amended Trade Union Act.
JIPYONG announced on the 30th that it had held the JIPYONG Labor Group Client Seminar at Grand Central in Jung District, Seoul, on the 29th.
JIPYONG explained that the need to review labor inspection response systems and internal compliance processes in advance is growing ahead of the launch of the Prosecution Agency next month and the enforcement of the Act on the Performance of Duties by Labor Inspectors in December.
Kwon Tae-seong, head of the Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office, delivered a special lecture titled 'Changes to the Labor Inspector System and Directions for Response.'
Yo Sub SHIM, an attorney at JIPYONG, then gave a presentation titled 'Key Labor Court Rulings and Decisions in the First Half of 2026 and an Outlook for Major Labor Policies in the Second Half.' He explained how recent rulings and decisions concerning the employer status of principal contractors, determinations of wages and worker status, and changes to work rules could affect corporate labor management. He also emphasized the need to conduct advance risk assessments in response to changes in labor policy.
Young Hwan Kwon, an attorney at JIPYONG, introduced major types of labor-related injunctions sought by employees and employers, along with the criteria for deciding them, through case studies under the topic 'Types of Labor-Related Injunctions and Practical Responses.' He also explained practical issues to consider when using or responding to injunctions in the early stages of labor-management disputes.
Kwon said, "Recent changes to the labor inspection system and enforcement of the amended Trade Union Act are making labor issues increasingly diverse. I hope this seminar will help participants understand the developments in labor-management disputes and administrative changes, and proactively assess risks in preparation for actual disputes."
