Crown Confectionery's Changsinje Festival, Korea's Largest Private Traditional Korean Music Performance, Gets Underway

[Financial News] Korea's largest traditional Korean music performance hosted by a private company will get underway in October.
Crown Confectionery said on the 30th that it will hold the 21st Changsinje Festival from Oct. 10 to 12 at the Sejong Center Grand Theater in Seoul.
Launched in 2004 under the theme of "creating newness based on the old," the Changsinje Festival is Korea's largest and most frequently held traditional music performance hosted by a private company.
Now in its 21st year, the Changsinje Festival will feature a further-evolved performance of Sujecheon, which was presented over the four years through last year. Sujecheon originated with the Baekje song Jeongeupsa and developed into court music during the Goryeo and Joseon periods. It is regarded as the pinnacle of traditional Korean music.
The performance will begin with the Seoul Traditional Korean Orchestra playing Sujecheon in four-part harmony, followed by a Sujecheon chorus sung by 100 Crown Confectionery employees. Han-eum musical prodigies will also take the stage at the Changsinje Festival.
A Crown Confectionery official said, "We will work to preserve and develop the original form of beautiful traditional music so that more people can enjoy it."
