[Financial News] SNT Holdings announced in a disclosure on the 30th that Chairman Choi Pyung-kyu plans to make an additional donation of 990,891 SNT Holdings shares he personally owns, representing a 6.65% stake, to the public-interest Woon Hae Foundation. Based on the previous day's closing price, the donation is worth approximately KRW 46 billion. The final donation amount will be determined based on the closing price on October 30.
Woon Hae Foundation was established in 2013 with basic assets worth KRW 30 billion, including KRW 10 billion in personal assets donated by Chairman Choi. Since then, it has continued to provide scholarships and support academic research.
With Chairman Choi's additional donation, the foundation's basic assets will increase to approximately KRW 176 billion. Once the donation is completed, the foundation's holdings in SNT Holdings will rise to a total of 1,489,000 shares, representing a 9.99% stake, making it the second-largest shareholder. Reflecting the rise in the stock price, the foundation's total assets under management amount to approximately KRW 250 billion.
This year, Woon Hae Foundation provided a total of KRW 5.335 billion in scholarships, including KRW 8 million each to 620 university students. The foundation plans to continue expanding its public-interest programs, including nurturing science and engineering talent for future generations, supporting educationally underserved groups, and funding academic research in future core technology fields.
Chairman Choi said, "For the past 13 years since its establishment, Woon Hae Foundation has continuously created a virtuous cycle in which corporate growth leads to enhanced shareholder value and giving back to society. I believe that helping Woon Hae scholars and other young people in the Republic of Korea grow into outstanding talent is a major responsibility as an entrepreneur."
