[Financial News] Users can check their NPS enrollment details and even apply for voluntary enrollment using only KakaoTalk conversations. By linking NPS services to the 'AI National Secretary' it is piloting with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS), Kakao is expanding public services with an action-oriented AI that handles actual administrative tasks, moving beyond simple information retrieval.
Kakao announced on the 30th that it would link NPS services to the conversational public service 'AI National Secretary.'
After introducing a service to check NPS enrollment details through AI National Secretary on the 17th, Kakao added a voluntary enrollment application feature on the same day. Within a KakaoTalk conversation, users can check their NPS enrollment details, determine whether they are eligible for voluntary enrollment, calculate their estimated premiums, and submit a voluntary enrollment application.
Previously, users had to access the National Pension Service (NPS) website, mobile app, or customer service center to check their NPS enrollment details or apply for enrollment. Processing sensitive information requiring identity verification through a conversational service was particularly difficult, but Kakao expanded the service's scope by integrating the verification process.
Kakao Certificate is used at stages requiring identity verification. Before submitting a voluntary enrollment application, users review the estimated premium and related information before giving their final consent.
For example, when a user enters, "Tell me my NPS enrollment details," they can verify their enrollment period and payment history after completing identity verification. The service checks whether they are eligible for voluntary enrollment and calculates the estimated premium when they enter their desired monthly income. Users can then review their standard monthly income and premium, give final consent, and complete the enrollment application.
Kakao expects the service integration to improve access for people eligible for voluntary NPS enrollment, including full-time homemakers and students. The company plans to continue discussions with NPS to enhance the linked features and expand the service so that other public services can also be used within a single conversational flow.
A Kakao official said, "We will continue expanding our partnerships with various agencies and develop the service so that everyone can conveniently use the administrative services they need in everyday conversations."
