[Financial News] "In the age of artificial intelligence (AI), Web3 can become infrastructure for trust. KBW will expand its collaboration with the AI sector. Starting with next year's KBW, we will place the convergence of AI and Web3 at the center of the event."
FACTBLOCK CEO Park Wi-ik made the remarks at the main conference of 'Korea Blockchain Week 2026 (KBW 2026),' held on the 30th at Walkerhill Hotels & Resorts Seoul.
Park explained KBW's future plans, first emphasizing institutional participation. He said participation by institutions is important beyond the current structure centered on individual investors and developer communities.
He said, "Technology, capital, and rules are needed for the market to move, and those rules are taking root in countries around the world," emphasizing, "When the rules become clear, institutions can finally move from 'consideration' to 'decision.'"
He continued, "Seoul can become a 'hub' where the systems and ways of working of other countries converge," adding, "However, just because the door is open does not mean people can automatically walk through it. 'Collaboration' is what moves the market."
He then outlined how KBW will change starting next year. "We will bring the people who build technology and those who decide whether to adopt it to the same table," Park said, adding, "We will create more opportunities for in-depth dialogue among policymakers, financial institutions, and industry leaders."
In particular, KBW plans to make the convergence of AI and Web3 a central agenda item and expand related discussions. Park said, "AI agents choosing services on behalf of companies, carrying out tasks within a set budget, and even making payments are no longer stories of the distant future," adding, "In the age of AI, Web3 can become infrastructure for trust."
KBW also plans to hold 'AI World' starting next year. Park said, "Starting with next year's KBW, we will place the convergence of AI and Web3 at the center of the event. 'AI World' is where it begins," adding, "We will turn the meeting point of AI and Web3 into a venue where developers, researchers, financial institutions, and companies can observe and verify it together."
KBW also plans to support communication among participants after the event ends. Specifically, it plans to establish regular forums for dialogue among institutions, connect the practical experience of Korean and overseas institutions, and facilitate joint verification by institutions that have confirmed their willingness to cooperate.
