[Financial News] The Korea Real Estate Board will install mobile closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in Daegu redevelopment areas where public safety gaps are a concern due to relocations and other factors.
KREB said on the 30th that it signed an agreement with Daegudongbu Police Station on the 29th to support crime prevention and the establishment of a public safety network in redevelopment areas.
Under the agreement, KREB will install mobile CCTV cameras worth 9.7 million won in redevelopment areas and support their operation. Daegudongbu Police Station plans to link the CCTV locations with its intensive patrol routes and operate a round-the-clock surveillance network.
The two organizations agreed to strengthen crime prevention efforts through police patrols and preemptively address crime blind spots and potential safety hazards. They will also cooperate to expand infrastructure needed for residents' safety.
They will continue discussing ways to apply CPTED to redevelopment areas by incorporating safety facilities and crime-prevention measures from the urban design stage.
