[Financial News] South Korea's women's compound archery team narrowly lost to India by one point, ending its bid for gold.
South Korea lost 233-234 to India in the semifinal of the women's compound team event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, held on the 30th at the multipurpose plaza of Okazaki Central Comprehensive Park in Japan's Aichi Prefecture. South Korea fielded Kang Yeon-seo (Seongsa Middle School), Park Jeong-yun (Changwon City Hall) and Park Ye-rin (Korea National Sport University).
South Korea made a solid start. The team matched India's 59 points in the first end, keeping the contest even. However, it managed only 56 points in the second end, falling three points behind India at 115-118.
South Korea launched a comeback in the third end. Hitting all six arrows for 10 points each, it scored 60 points and narrowed the gap to one point at 175-176. However, both teams scored 58 points in the fourth and final end, leaving South Korea with a 233-234 defeat and sending it to the bronze-medal match. South Korea will face Chinese Taipei, which lost 229-230 to China in the bronze-medal match that day.
South Korea's women's compound team won gold at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, when the event was held at the Asian Games for the first time. It then claimed the title at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, securing back-to-back championships. South Korea sought to regain the gold medal at this competition, eight years after its 2018 title, but its bid ended in the semifinal.
