[Financial News] Busan bio companies achieved significant results at Southeast Asia's largest medical device exhibition held in Singapore, pursuing export consultations worth a total of 6.8 billion won and contracts worth 1.4 billion won through active business activities.

The exhibition, held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore, was attended by over 1,000 companies from more than 40 countries and approximately 14,000 visitors. Among them, the city organized a joint Busan pavilion consisting of a total of 10 companies, including 6 companies participating in the 'Senior-Friendly Industry Development Support Project' and 4 companies participating in the 'Global High-Medihub Special Zone Win-Win Cooperation Project'.
During the exhibition, a total of 190 consultations worth $4,927,200 (approximately 6.8 billion KRW) took place at the Busan Joint Pavilion. Of these, the value of contracts in progress was $1,011,000, and contracts signed on-site amounted to $81,000.
By participating company, SUN WORLD KOREA recorded the highest consultation value at $1,072,700. Hakam Bio Co., Ltd. had the highest number of consultations with 28 cases.
Considering that the exhibited items consisted of medical and healthcare consumables and devices ranging from tens of thousands of won to a maximum of 2 million won per unit, the consultation value of approximately 6.8 billion won is evaluated as a significant result that could lead to large-scale exports. In particular, on the last day of the exhibition, a Singapore-based distribution company signed agreements with Amiglobal and SUNG CHANG Co., Ltd., respectively, achieving export results totaling 30,000 dollars.
Meanwhile, the city also participated in the 'Korea-Singapore Biohealth Partnership' networking event organized by Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) during the exhibition to promote Busan's medical device and healthcare companies and related industries. The city reported that local buyers who attended the event showed interest, visiting the Busan joint pavilion the following day to examine the participating companies' products firsthand and expressing their intention to visit Busan Healthcare Week.
In addition, the city visited the headquarters of Prestige Biopharma Limited, a biohealth anchor company that houses the 'Innovative Discovery Center (IDC),' Busan's R&D hub, to discuss cooperation plans. The city and Prestige Biopharma Limited agreed to continue cooperating to help the Busan IDC grow into an anchor company for the regional biohealth cluster, and also discussed measures for administrative support at the city level.
