[Financial News] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) said on the 30th that it had held the Financial Competency Competition for University Students in Busan with Busan Bank at Busan Bank's headquarters on the 29th.
The competition was organized for participants in the 10th cohort of the Busan-area University Student Competency Enhancement Network (BUFF), launched in June, to discover innovative ideas related to finance and economics while enhancing participants' practical skills and understanding of businesses.
About 100 university students participated in 10 teams and presented ideas on four main topics: ways to innovate KAMCO's state-owned property customer services using artificial intelligence, measures to revitalize debt adjustment programs, promotional strategies for community-based living platforms, and Busan Bank's digital branding strategy.
The judging panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation based on creativity, problem-solving skills, and presentation quality. It selected five winning teams: one grand-prize team, one excellence-award team, and three encouragement-award teams. The winners received a total of 2.4 million won in scholarships, including 1 million won for the grand prize, 500,000 won for the excellence award, and 300,000 won for each encouragement award.
The grand prize went to "A Regional Co-Prosperity Plan Using the BNK Maru Platform," which received high marks for its originality and feasibility. The excellence award went to "On-Navi, Which Helps Users Easily Find the Items They Want," while three ideas, including "Measures to Revitalize the Saechulbal Fund Through Job Linkages," received encouragement awards.
Park Seong-hyeon, KAMCO's standing auditor who presented the awards, said, "This competition provided an opportunity to see the fresh ideas of university students in Busan and their strong passion for the financial sector." He added, "KAMCO will continue offering various support programs so that local talent can gain practical experience related to actual work and develop their capabilities."
