Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education to Recruit 471 National, Public and Private Secondary School Teachers for the 2027 Academic Year

[Financial News] The Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education will recruit 471 teachers for national, public and private secondary schools for the 2027 academic year. The openings include three positions at national schools, 356 at public schools and 112 at private schools.
At 10 a.m. on the 30th, the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education announced on its website the recruitment examination plan for prospective teachers in Busan for the 2027 academic year. The plan covers secondary school teachers as well as health, librarian, professional counseling, nutrition and special education (secondary) teachers.
The number of public school teaching positions will remain at 356, the same as the figure announced in advance on August 5.
By field, the openings comprise 289 secondary school teachers, 11 health teachers for kindergartens and elementary schools, nine health teachers for secondary schools, six librarians, 16 professional counselors, seven nutrition teachers and 18 special education teachers for secondary schools. The total covers 30 subjects and is down by 234 positions from last year's 590.
For national schools, the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education will recruit three navigation teachers after being commissioned by Busan Maritime High School to administer the first-stage examination and part of the second-stage examination.
For private schools, the office will recruit 112 teachers in 20 subjects after being commissioned by 42 private-school corporations to administer the first-stage examination and part of the second-stage examination.
Nineteen of the commissioned corporations applied for the concurrent application system for public and private schools. Accordingly, applicants for public school teaching positions as their first choice may also apply to these private-school corporations as their second choice if they wish.
Applications will be accepted through the online teacher recruitment website from 9 a.m. on October 12 until 6 p.m. on October 16.
The first-stage examination will be held on November 28, with successful applicants scheduled to be announced on December 29. The second-stage examination will then take place over two days starting January 20 next year. The practical examination will be held on January 14 next year. Final successful applicants are scheduled to be announced on February 5 next year.
