The Ministry of Trade and Industry said on the 30th that it had held the 54th Business Restructuring Plan Deliberation Committee meeting and approved business restructuring plans for Dikei and Pishio to enter new industries.
The approved companies plan to invest a combined KRW 48.1 billion and hire 99 new employees over the next five years as they pursue business restructuring.
Dikei, a home appliance manufacturer, will enter the battery parts market by developing cooling plates essential for electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems. Pishio, a network security company, will develop new AI-based technology to reduce the size of video data using its existing technologies and supply an integrated solution to the security market.
Kim Ju-hoon, chairman of the private-sector committee, emphasized, "We highly value the efforts of companies pursuing business restructuring to respond to rapid changes in the economic environment and technology. The government must also continue strengthening its support so that companies' business restructuring can succeed."
A Ministry of Industry official stated, "We will continue expanding incentives, including business restructuring consulting, R&D, and fund support, so that companies can achieve results as soon as possible through proactive business restructuring."
