[Financial News] Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok said on the 30th, "It is becoming clear that the DMZ explosion was caused by North Korea laying mines," and added, "I call for our military to take countermeasures."
Kim Min-seok made the remarks while presiding over a Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly that day.
Kim Min-seok said, "We condemn North Korea's violation of the Armistice Agreement," and criticized "the North Korean authorities' stance of denying it by calling it a self-staged incident," adding, "They must apologize and rectify it without fail."
Kim Min-seok also stressed, "We must review the overall response to North Korea's so-called 'borderization measures,' which began in early 2024 under the Yoon Suk Yeol administration."
He added, "I once again offer my condolences to the wounded commanders and service members and their families, and will ensure that treatment and compensation are fully provided," and stated, "Tomorrow (the 1st) is Armed Forces Day. The Democratic Party of Korea once again pledges to ensure thorough crisis-management responses and improve conditions for military service, grounded in an ironclad defense posture and a firm resolve to protect the nation."
