[Financial News] CJ Logistics is expanding beyond simple delivery into automotive services that combine product transportation with on-site work. After launching mobile tire installation last year, the company has added mobile engine-oil replacement and plans to expand into other automotive parts, such as batteries. It is building a new business-to-consumer (B2C) model that leverages its nationwide logistics network.
According to industry sources on the 30th, CJ Logistics is launching a mobile engine-oil replacement service with S-OIL TotalEnergies Lubricants.
Once an order is placed, CJ Logistics transports the engine oil and filter to a location designated by the customer. A professional technician assigned to that area then visits the site to carry out the replacement. The company has also established delivery and on-site service systems that allow the replacement to be performed the day after the order is placed.
The Unban Group, which oversees CJ Logistics' middle-mile logistics business, is responsible for the new service. CJ Logistics plans to use operational data, including service usage information, for delivery and vehicle dispatching to improve efficiency.
Last year, CJ Logistics entered the automotive B2C market by launching a mobile tire installation service with Kumho Tire. Under the service, tires are transported to a location chosen by the customer, where a professional technician visits to install them.
CJ Logistics plans to expand the service to other automotive parts, including batteries. It is also considering a business-to-business (B2B) service targeting companies that operate vehicles, such as rental-car firms and businesses with corporate fleets.
A CJ Logistics official said, "By expanding our service offerings from tires to engine oil, we are opening up new business opportunities in the mobility sector. We will continue to identify differentiated business models that address customers' diverse needs, leveraging our nationwide logistics network and on-site service capabilities."
