[Financial News] Gmarket will introduce an "option image" feature in October that allows shoppers to compare product colors, designs and other options through images during the selection process.
According to Gmarket on the 30th, option images are a feature that displays images corresponding to each option directly in the option-selection area when a product is available in multiple colors or designs. Shoppers can check images of the same T-shirt in different colors before making a selection.
Previously, product options were provided mainly as text, requiring customers to review the main image or product details page separately to identify differences between options. The company explained that the new feature will make the purchasing process more convenient by allowing shoppers to compare differences through images while selecting options.
The feature is expected to be particularly useful when purchasing products whose colors or designs are difficult to distinguish through text alone. Gmarket also expects it to reduce mistaken orders, as shoppers can review their selected options through images.
Sellers can add images for each option when registering or modifying a product. The feature can be applied not only to standalone options but also to combinations of multiple attributes, such as color and size. Sellers can decide whether to register images.
A Gmarket official said, "Even for the same product, customers often need to check a variety of information when selecting options because colors and sizes can vary. We expect option images to let shoppers compare and select the products they want more intuitively, shortening their shopping journey and making the purchasing process easier and clearer."
