'Top 1% Insurance Agents': 1,602 Selected... GIAK Certifies Blue Ribbon Consultants

[Financial News] A total of 1,602 people were selected this year as Blue Ribbon Consultants, regarded as the highest honor in the general insurance industry. Starting this year, the selection criteria were tightened. Major sales performance indicators, including persistency rates and the number of contracts, were comprehensively reviewed among insurance sales professionals with five consecutive years of outstanding certification, with honorees carefully chosen from the top 1% of all exclusive sales professionals.
On the 30th, GIAK announced that it had selected a total of 1,602 people as this year's Blue Ribbon Consultants.
The Blue Ribbon Consultant certification program was introduced by GIAK in 2011 to establish a culture of complete and compliant insurance sales and enhance the pride of insurance sales professionals. This year marks the 16th certification. The program aims to select sales professionals whose long-term performance in proper sales and contract management has been verified, providing consumers with a standard for choosing insurance agents they can trust for consultations.
This year's selection process was more rigorous than before. Insurance agents with five consecutive years of outstanding certification and individual insurance agencies formed the initial pool, after which major sales performance indicators—including 13th- and 25th-month contract persistency rates and the number of contracts—were comprehensively reviewed. Outstanding Certified Insurance Agents must meet requirements such as having no cases of improper sales, no disciplinary records over the past three years, and high contract persistency rates.
The number selected represents approximately 1% of the 156,611 exclusive general insurance sales professionals as of the end of last year. The certification period runs from October 1 this year through September 30 next year.
Among those certified, 777 people, or 48.5%, had at least 30 years of experience in insurance sales, the largest group. Another 639 people, or 39.9%, had between 20 and 30 years of experience, meaning that nearly 90% of all those certified had at least 20 years of experience. By age group, people in their 60s accounted for the largest share, at 774 people, or 48.3%. The youngest recipient was 33, while the oldest was 80.
GIAK plans to operate a promotional page for certified individuals on its website and include the Blue Ribbon Consultant logo on insurance application forms to enhance the certification's public credibility and support their sales activities. It will also conduct media promotions, including print advertisements.
Certified individuals will also receive plaques and badges. This year, GIAK plans to present newly designed certification plaques symbolizing the top 1%.
A GIAK official said, "Blue Ribbon Consultants provide consumers with a standard for identifying sales professionals whose long-term capabilities in complete and compliant sales and contract management have been recognized." The official added, "We will continue supporting the program to enhance its credibility and help establish a sound insurance sales culture in the field."
