Year-End Musical Ticketing Battle... Tickets for 'Chicago' and 'The Phantom of the Opera' to Go on Sale

[Financial News] The musicals 'Chicago' and 'The Phantom of the Opera,' which are set to open at the end of the year, will begin ticket sales one after another. 'Chicago' will release its first tickets on the 30th, while 'The Phantom of the Opera,' marking its global 40th anniversary, will open its first ticket sales on October 8.

NHN Link, which operates the ticketing platform Ticketlink, will begin first-round ticket sales for the musical 'Chicago' at 2 p.m. on the 30th. The musical opens on December 5.
NHN Link said, "We will also hold an event offering special benefits, such as a program book signed by the cast."
'Chicago,' presented by Shinsi Company, is a long-running hit that has met more than 1.8 million audience members through 1,729 performances since its Korean premiere in 2000. It recorded a 100% seat occupancy rate in 2024. The musical also made headlines in the first half of this year when its cast member Ivy moved onto the Hollywood stage of 'Chicago.'
This season, with Ivy returning to Korea to take the stage again, will run from December 5 through March 14, 2027, at the LG SIGNATURE Hall of LG Arts Center Seoul.

The 40th-anniversary special season of 'The Phantom of the Opera,' hosted by Clip Service and produced by S&Co, will begin first ticket sales at 2 p.m. on October 8.
The tickets going on sale cover performances from December 22 through January 15, 2027, including holidays such as Christmas and New Year's Day. The entire run is approximately two months, making it relatively short.
Subscribers to the production's newsletter, which serves as its membership program, can purchase presale tickets from 2 p.m. on October 7 until 9 a.m. on October 8. The official ticketing outlets are NOL Ticket, YES24, the Meta Club app and Clip Service. 
Choi Jae-rim, Jeon Dong-seok and Kang-hyun Park will play the Phantom in 'The Phantom of the Opera.' Lee Hae-won and Sunho Choi will portray Christine, while Song Won-geun and Kim Sung-sik will play Raoul. Yoon Young-seok will take the role of Monsieur André, Lee Sang-jun will play Monsieur Firmin, Kim A-seon will portray Madame Giry, Evelyn and Han Bo Ra will play Carlotta, Lee Sang-moon will take the role of Piangi, and Jo Ha-rin will play Meg Giry. The performances will be held at Blue Square Woori Bank Hall.
