Incheon Metropolitan City Government to Hold Citizens’ Day Grand Festival on Oct. 10; New Slogan for Ninth Popularly Elected Administration to Be Unveiled

【Financial News, Incheon = Reporter Han Gap-su】 Incheon Metropolitan City Government will hold the 62nd Citizens’ Day Commemorative Incheon Citizens’ Grand Festival at Eoul Keunmadang in Incheon Grand Park on Oct. 10. This will be the first Citizens’ Day event since the launch of the ninth popularly elected administration, bringing together citizens from diverse generations and walks of life to communicate and build unity.
In particular, the new municipal administration slogan of Incheon’s ninth popularly elected administration will be officially unveiled for the first time during the commemorative ceremony.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. with pre-event performances, including a wind ensemble and traditional folk arts performances, followed by hands-on programs that the whole family can enjoy, such as crafts, art and upcycling activities. From 3 p.m., a citizens’ cultural arts festival featuring orchestral and choral performances will take place.
The venue will also feature promotional booths introducing major municipal policies on the environment, care, tourism and science. Citizen-participation programs, including generative AI image creation, virtual reality (VR) and drone experiences, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, will also be offered.
The Citizens’ Day commemorative ceremony, beginning at 6 p.m., will include the 48th Incheon City Citizen Award ceremony honoring citizens who have contributed to community development. It will be followed by a ceremony attended by key guests and citizen representatives to unveil the slogan of the ninth popularly elected administration, as well as a special performance by the Incheon City Children’s Choir.
Singers Park Kiyoung and Lee Seok-hoon, among others, will perform at the celebratory concert. The event will conclude with a drone light show.
Incheon Metropolitan City Government will designate the 15-day period from Oct. 10 through 24, including Citizens’ Day on Oct. 15, as Citizens’ Happiness Week. During this period, it will promote various cultural, artistic, tourism, sports and exhibition events in connection with Citizens’ Day and operate programs for citizen participation.
Accommodation, tourism and cultural facilities will also offer various benefits to Incheon residents. Details, including the usage period and discount rate for each facility, are available on the Incheon Metropolitan City Government website.
Mayor Park Chan-dae said, "It will be a starting point for sharing the vision and values of the ninth popularly elected Incheon administration with citizens and working together to build an Incheon where citizens are happy."
