Xi Jinping Likely to Pursue U.S.-China-Russia Trilateral Talks at APEC

[Financial News] Speculation has emerged that Chinese President Xi Jinping will seek to arrange a meeting among the leaders of the United States, China and Russia on the occasion of next month's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be held in China.
According to Russian broadcaster Vesti on the 29th local time, Yuri Ushakov, the Kremlin's foreign policy adviser, said, "Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend APEC as planned." He added, "If the U.S. president is also present, it is highly likely that Xi Jinping will hold a trilateral meeting."
Ushakov noted, "No agreement has been reached on this yet, and it is not 100% certain that U.S. President Donald Trump will attend." However, he added, "If all three leaders gather, I think it would be natural for them to hold talks."
Earlier, on the 1st of this month, he also hinted at the possibility of a trilateral meeting, saying, "If things proceed as planned, a meeting among the three could take place."
