[Financial News] Lotte Wellfood has obtained Global HACCP certification for seven of its factories in South Korea, establishing a food safety management system that meets international standards.
Lotte Wellfood said on the 30th that the certified production facilities are seven factories producing key export products: Yeongdeungpo District in Seoul, Yangsan in Gyeongsangnam-do, Pyeongtaek in Gyeonggi-do, Daejeon, Cheonan in Chungcheongnam-do, Gimcheon in Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Hoengseong County in Gangwon-do.
Global HACCP is a certification system introduced last year by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in response to changes in domestic and international food manufacturing environments and standards. It expands the scope of management to international standards by incorporating the guidelines of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CODEX) and the food safety certification standards of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
Lotte Wellfood has designated food safety as one of its core management values and is pursuing various initiatives to embed a food safety culture throughout the organization.
Through technical cooperation with the Food Safety Center of the Lotte Central Research Institute, the company provides training and technical support for all employees. It is also encouraging communication among relevant departments and taking the lead in establishing a voluntary food safety culture.
A Lotte Wellfood official said, "Using this Global HACCP certification as an opportunity, we will further develop our prevention-oriented management system and supply products that consumers around the world can choose with confidence."
