Shin Yu-bin and yohemite Donate 50 Million Won to Children Affected by Floods in Nepal

[Financial News] National table tennis team member Shin Yu-bin and sports nutrition brand yohemite have donated 50 million won to children affected by floods in Nepal.
According to UNICEF Korea on the 30th, the donation was made after Shin Yu-bin expressed her intention to contribute part of her yohemite endorsement fee. yohemite joined the effort and helped raise the funds.
The entire donation will be used through the UNICEF Nepal office to support affected children and their families. It will provide drinking water and hygiene supplies, health and nutrition assistance, psychosocial support, and temporary learning spaces.
Shin Yu-bin said, "I hope this can be of some help to the children and families in Nepal who are facing great difficulties because of the floods," adding, "I hope they can return to a safe daily life as soon as possible."
According to UNICEF Korea, flash floods that struck Nepal on August 26 affected approximately 84,000 people across six areas and 17 local government jurisdictions. About 32,000 of those affected were children. Fifty water-supply facilities and 20 schools were also destroyed.
That means roughly four in 10 affected residents were children. With both water-supply facilities and schools destroyed, relief efforts now include not only providing drinking water and protecting public health, but also restoring conditions that allow children to continue their education.
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is working with the Nepalese government to help restore water-supply facilities and is providing drinking water and hygiene supplies, therapeutic food for malnutrition, and learning kits for students and teachers. It is also expanding psychosocial support for children and families through professional counselors.
Kumjoo Huh, secretary-general of UNICEF Korea, said, "We will do our utmost in our emergency relief efforts so that support can reach children facing even greater difficulties because of the disaster as quickly as possible."
