"The Worm" Dennis Rodman Draws Renewed Attention Amid Possible Trump–Kim Jong Un Summit

[Financial News]  Amid reports that U.S. President Donald Trump is pursuing a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, attention is turning to former NBA star Dennis Rodman, who has visited North Korea several times.
The New York Post reported on the 29th (local time) that Rodman would join President Trump's scheduled midterm-election campaign event at a university in Durant, Oklahoma.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where the event is scheduled to take place, is reportedly Rodman's alma mater, which he attended in the 1980s.
A source said that President Trump would focus on North Korea after the midterm elections, including a meeting with Kim Jong Un. The source added that Trump considers Rodman an ambassador of friendship between the United States and North Korea and is also in contact with him.
Known by the nickname "The Worm," Rodman was regarded as a rebounding specialist during his NBA career. He played for the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls, helping lead the teams to five championships.
Rodman's relationship with President Trump began in 2009, when the basketball star appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice, an NBC reality show hosted by Trump.
Kim Jong Un was an avid Bulls fan while studying in Switzerland and called Rodman his "friend for life."
Rodman first visited North Korea in 2013, leading a group of players on a "Basketball Diplomacy Tour."
