Jeju Temperatures to Fall Starting Tomorrow; Seongpanak to Reach 10°C on the Morning of Oct. 3

[Financial News, Jeju Province—Reporter Jeong Yong-bok] Jeju Province will become noticeably cooler starting tomorrow, the first day of October. Daytime temperatures, which will rise to 25–27°C today, are expected to fall to 23–25°C tomorrow, while Seongpanak on Hallasan could see its morning temperature drop to 10°C on Oct. 3.
According to the Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 30th, Jeju Province will be mostly clear today before becoming increasingly cloudy from the morning.
From the morning through late afternoon, some areas—particularly the mid-mountain and mountainous regions—could receive less than 0.1 mm of rain. The expected daytime highs are 26°C in Jeju Province, 27°C in Seogwipo, 25°C in Seongsan and 26°C in Gosan.
The temperature change will become more pronounced starting Oct. 1. Tomorrow will begin cloudy before gradually clearing from the morning. Morning lows will range from 21–22°C, showing little change from today, while daytime highs will fall to 23–25°C.
The daytime high is expected to be 23°C in Jeju Province, Seongsan and Gosan, and 25°C in Seogwipo. These figures are 2–3°C lower by region than today.
Temperatures in the mountainous areas will fall faster than along the coast. Seongpanak is forecast to see 16°C in the morning and 19°C during the day tomorrow. Morning lows in Sancheondan and Hannam are both expected to be 18°C.
On Oct. 2, skies will be mostly clear, while morning temperatures will fall another step. Coastal areas are expected to see morning lows of 17–19°C and daytime highs of 22–23°C.
At Seongpanak, temperatures will fall to 11°C in the morning and 18°C during the day. Morning lows in Sancheondan and Hannam are also forecast at 14°C.
On Oct. 3, skies will be mostly clear before becoming increasingly cloudy from the evening. Coastal areas are expected to see morning lows of 17–18°C and daytime highs of 23–24°C.
Seongpanak's morning temperature will fall to 10°C. Sancheondan and Hannam are also forecast to see 13°C, widening the temperature gap between the coast and the mountains.
At sea, wave heights will rise in some areas starting tomorrow. Waves in the waters off Jeju Province, currently at 0.5–1.0 m, are expected to reach as high as 2.0 m tomorrow in the southern, eastern and western coastal waters.
From tomorrow afternoon through the morning of Oct. 2, winds in the inner offshore waters southwest and southeast of Jeju Province will blow at 9–13 m/s, with wave heights of 1.5–2.5 m. The outer offshore waters south of Jeju Province are also expected to see waves of up to 2.5 m from tomorrow afternoon through Oct. 2.
Temperatures in coastal areas are expected to fall to the upper teens on the morning of Oct. 2, while those in the mountainous areas of Hallasan will drop to around 10°C on Oct. 3. Hikers and others engaging in outdoor activities should take regional temperature differences into account.
