[Financial News] Sun Cruise Hotel & Resort, located in Jeongdongjin, Gangneung, Gangwon Province, has drawn attention for continuing to operate an unconventional benefits program that supports its employees' childbirth, asset building and housing stability.
Yonhap News Agency and other outlets reported on the 29th that Sun Cruise would hold an employee awards ceremony at the hotel's banquet hall on the 30th and present childbirth incentives and savings maturity bonuses.
The most notable award was a 100 million won childbirth incentive for an employee who had twins. This marks the second presentation ceremony since the incentive was first paid in 2024.
Sun Cruise has operated a childbirth-support benefits program since 2024 as part of its efforts to address the country's low birth rate and regional population decline. Employees receive 50 million won for their first child and an additional 50 million won for their second, allowing each employee to receive up to 100 million won in childbirth incentives.
The company also operates a program to help employees build assets. Employees who save consistently for five years and reach maturity on a 100 million won savings account receive a 10 million won bonus, equivalent to 10% of the principal.
Support is also available for housing stability: employees who purchase a home can receive an interest-free loan of up to 300 million won.
CEO Park Ki-yeol said, "I believe the company can grow together with its employees only when they are able to build stable families and prepare for the future while working here." He added, "We will continue providing support that offers practical help in employees' lives, including childbirth and child-rearing, housing and asset building."
