Busan Port Authority Opens Singapore Branch, Launching Key Southeast Asian Hub for Shipping and Logistics

[Financial News] Busan Port Authority (BPA) held an opening ceremony for its Singapore branch on the 29th at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay and announced that it had begun strengthening its global network in Southeast Asia and expanding its overseas operations.
To respond to the reorganization of global supply chains and the growth of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) market, as well as to strengthen its on-the-ground responsiveness in Southeast Asia, BPA relocated its Southeast Asia Representative Office from Indonesia to Singapore and established a local branch.
Singapore is a major shipping, port and logistics center, serving as a leading global transshipment hub and home to the Asia-Pacific headquarters of numerous global shipping companies and logistics firms.
Based in Singapore, BPA plans to establish an ongoing network with major organizations such as the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and PSA International, as well as global shipping and logistics companies. It will also step up efforts to identify overseas projects and market the Port of Busan.
In particular, BPA will support overseas projects currently being pursued in Indonesia and Vietnam, identify new port and logistics business opportunities in the ASEAN region, and expand opportunities to generate new cargo volume at the Port of Busan among global shipping companies and shippers.
BPA President Song Sang-geun said, "The opening of the Singapore branch marks a new starting point for closely connecting the port and logistics industries of the Port of Busan, Singapore and Southeast Asia." He added, "We will further strengthen our relationships with MPA, PSA International, global shipping companies, and port and logistics firms."
BPA plans to develop its Singapore branch into a key platform for Southeast Asia and continue expanding the Port of Busan's global network and strengthening the foundation for its overseas operations.
