Gangwon Technopark Provides On-Site Personal Information Training, Including Generative AI Security

【Financial News, Wonju—Kim Gi-seop, Reporter】Practical training on personal information protection and generative AI security rules was held in Wonju for workplaces where the use of artificial intelligence (AI) is expanding.
According to Gangwon Technopark on the 29th, it conducted the "Visiting Personal Information Safety Guardian Training" that day at the Wonju Future Industry Promotion Agency's training center. The program was organized as part of the Personal Information Protection Commission's (PIPC) Personal Information Safety Guardian Program to strengthen the protection capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises and startups in the province that collect and use personal information, while creating a safer management environment. The PIPC dispatched specialist instructors, including retired public officials with relevant work experience, while the Gangwon Pseudonymized Information Utilization Support Center was responsible for recruiting participants and operating the training.
The training focused on topics that could be applied immediately to corporate operations. It covered key interpretations and violation cases under the Personal Information Protection Act, measures for responding to data breaches, and cases involving legal interpretations, investigations, and sanctions. Participants' routine work-related difficulties were addressed through question-and-answer sessions and on-site consulting by the dispatched specialists.
This year, the curriculum newly added hands-on GPT training based on information security, along with security precautions to observe when using generative artificial intelligence. The program was designed to strengthen both personal information protection and information security response capabilities as companies and institutions rapidly expand their use of artificial intelligence.
Lee Gi-su, head of the Gangwon Pseudonymized Information Utilization Support Center, said, "The program covers content that can be used immediately in the field, including not only cases of legal violations and methods for responding to data breaches, but also security rules to follow when using generative artificial intelligence." He added, "As data use expands, organizations must also develop the ability to protect it safely, so I hope this training will help ease the practical concerns of local companies and institutions."
