[Financial News] The K-Culture Contents Industry Association will operate the first cohort of the 'K-Content Security Token CEO Course,' which is designed to develop business models for security tokens (STO) using content intellectual property (IP).
The Era of Tokenized Securities (STO Is Dawning)
The course focuses on helping content companies explore new funding methods and investment opportunities and turn them into concrete business plans. It is a project-based program in which participants will first examine the concept of STO and domestic and international cases before designing business models based on content IP.
The program will run for 10 weeks, from October 15 to December 17, every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the fifth floor of DREAMPLUS in Seocho-gu, Seoul. A networking dinner will be provided from 6 p.m. before each class, and the program also includes a two-night, three-day workshop in Singapore. About 40 participants will be selected.
The lectures will cover the legal and economic structure of STO; funding and revenue models using content IP; domestic fractional-investment cases; overseas STO and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization cases; practical aspects of securities issuance; rights structures and trust design; technology infrastructure; and investor recruitment strategies. The faculty will include former Prime Minister Chung Un-chan, Dankook University Professor Woo Jeong-gwon, Yeolmae Company CEO Kim Jae-wook and Musicow CEO Jung Hyun-kyung.
"Aiming to Become a Network Hub Connecting Policymakers, Local Governments and Companies"
The K-Culture Contents Industry Association, which is operating the course, is a cultural industry consultative body that supports the overseas expansion and growth of the K-content industry. The association operates committees in areas including arenas, AI content, story and short-form content, content intellectual property (IP), content digital finance and lifestyle. It also plans to focus on nurturing talent in the K-culture sector and developing policies and strategies for the content industry.
Meanwhile, bills to amend the Electronic Securities Act and the Capital Markets Act to introduce tokenized securities passed the National Assembly's plenary session on January 15. According to the Financial Services Commission (FSC), the related framework is scheduled to take effect on February 4, 2027, following the revision of subordinate regulations and the establishment of the necessary infrastructure.
