Gwanak District Seeks Tenants for Coworking Space for Social Economy Enterprises

[Financial News] Gwanak District in Seoul announced on the 29th that it is recruiting companies to occupy the Gwanak District Social Economy Facility Coworking Space to support the stable business operations and sustainable growth of social economy enterprises.
A coworking space is a shared workplace where multiple companies use individual work areas and common facilities while engaging in exchanges and collaboration. Gwanak District provides affordable office space to social economy enterprises that have difficulty securing workspaces, supporting the growth of the local social economy ecosystem by promoting exchanges and collaboration among companies.
Eligible applicants include prospective social enterprises, cooperatives, village enterprises, and self-sufficiency enterprises. The available space consists of one two-person room measuring 5.8 square meters and one four-person room measuring 8.4 square meters, for a total of two units, in the coworking space on the fourth floor of Nanhyang Kkumdungji at 78 Nangok-ro. Nanhyang Kkumdungji is a multifunctional community facility that brings childcare, library, and social economy functions together in one building. It recently strengthened its role as a startup and social economy hub. The facility provides making and startup education using 3D printers and contour cutters, while social economy enterprises plan and operate programs there.
Tenant companies can use office space at a lower cost than at other facilities. The lease term is two years and can be renewed once, allowing companies to use the space stably for up to four years.
In addition to their individual work areas, tenant companies can use the common areas and facilities within the coworking space. They use the shared spaces for team activities, regular meetings, promotional video shoots, and capacity-building programs. Through networking and information exchange, they can also explore new opportunities for collaboration.
The tenant companies will be selected through document and interview reviews of the applicants. Applications will be accepted by email from September 30 through October 7. Along with operating the coworking space, Gwanak District is implementing various programs for social economy enterprises, including business development funding, market access support, and education and consulting. The district plans to continue expanding these programs so that social economy enterprises can become more self-reliant and sustain their growth.
