[Financial News] The G-STAR Organizing Committee officially unveiled key content for the International Game Exhibition G-STAR 2026, including the exhibition hall floor plan, the hands-on lineup of major global titles, official esports tournaments, additional conference speakers and online promotions. The move is intended to help exhibitors and visitors prepare smoothly for the event and enjoy their time at the venue. Major attractions such as the G-STAR Global Game Showcase, featuring blockbuster titles from global game companies including NetEase Games, Sega, Koei Tecmo, and CD Projekt Red, also began to take shape.
Global game companies descend on G-STAR
According to industry sources on the 29th, the G-STAR Organizing Committee released the BTC floor plans for Exhibition Halls 1 and 2 at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) to help visitors and exhibitors prepare for G-STAR 2026.
Exhibition Hall 1 has been laid out with all six large spaces of 100 booths or more—the maximum size that can be installed given the hall's structure. Main sponsor Crack, along with Krafton, HoYoverse, Google Play, Webzen and Team42, will participate with large booths of 100 booths or more.
The first floor of BEXCO Exhibition Hall 2 will serve as a special BTC exhibition area where visitors can experience major titles from global game companies.
Koei Tecmo Games will offer dedicated hands-on showcases for Wo Long 2: Wings of Amber and Atelier Karia: Kingdom of Night and Milestones of Memories. Visitors will also be able to try Nioh 3, developed by Team Ninja.
Sega will present Total War: Warhammer 40,000 in Korea for the first time. The strategy game won the Best PC Game award at the Gamescom Awards. Special hands-on demonstrations will also be offered for Crazy Taxi: World Tour, which lets players race freely through cities around the world in dynamic car-action gameplay, and Football Manager 27, the latest installment in the globally renowned football-club management simulation series.
NetEase Games, which has confirmed that Sea of Remnants will be exhibited in Exhibition Hall 1, will also establish a dedicated brand zone in Exhibition Hall 2. It will showcase Once Human, which combines exploration, construction and survival in a world transformed by supernatural phenomena, as well as Where Winds Meet, winner of the Best Mobile Game award at the Gamescom Awards. Visitors will be able to experience the games' new updates.
CD Projekt Red will present an interactive experience space featuring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. A special showcase of gameplay footage from the Korean-voiceover version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past will be held at G-STAR, drawing the attention of gamers. The company will also offer special hands-on sessions and on-site programs for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and Cyberpunk 2077, an open-world action-adventure RPG set in the dark futuristic city of Night City.
Additional developers and titles joining the lineup will be announced in stages through the official G-STAR website and social media channels.
106 indie game companies head to G-STAR
The G-STAR Organizing Committee's independently planned program, G-STAR Indie Showcase 2.0: Galaxy, will also occupy a large area on the first floor of Exhibition Hall 2. This year's indie showcase will span 250 booths, with 106 indie game developers from Korea and abroad taking part.
The exhibition area will be organized into specialized zones tailored to the participating companies and their content. It will begin with the G-STAR Selected Indie Hands-on Zone, featuring outstanding titles selected by G-STAR and 37 studios. Other areas include the Publisher Hands-on Zone, held with global publisher Devolver Digital and featuring 23 studios, and the Studio Hands-on and Title Exhibition, organized in cooperation with overseas organizations such as the European Game Developers Federation (EGDF) and the Embassy of Poland in Seoul and featuring 16 studios. Steam Deck and Discord will also participate as official sponsors, further enhancing the on-site environment for experiencing indie games.
The Unity Indie Hands-on Zone, organized in partnership with Unity and featuring 30 studios, will offer programs for sharing creative and development expertise in addition to hands-on experiences for visitors. The Unity AI Game Jam will be held for the first time, showcasing the possibilities of next-generation game development incorporating cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The program will also include Indie Relay Talk, where industry developers will share their know-how and insights.
In line with changes in the BTB landscape at global game exhibitions, the G-STAR 2026 BTB exhibition hall will undergo a phased transformation into a practical business hub centered on business lounges and networking, where demand is highest. The key focus of the overhaul is to gradually shift toward a networking-oriented space that increases the frequency and density of meetings while maintaining the existing booth-centered exhibition format.
To that end, the committee has significantly expanded the networking lounge and introduced customized lounge booths to maximize the convenience and efficiency of ongoing meetings. Global companies are also supporting these new initiatives. Amazon Ads and Twitch will contribute to the networking lounge, which will serve as a hub for business exchanges, while the Network Party, a key networking event at the BTB venue, will be expanded in scale and programming through a partnership with Microsoft.
A new professional corporate-investor-relations (IR) pitching stage, G-STAR Investment Connect, will be established with the participation of leading domestic and international venture capital firms, corporate venture capital firms and global publishers. The committee plans to provide multifaceted support so that promising small and midsize developers, indie studios and startups can achieve tangible results in attracting investment and opening up global distribution channels.
Creator and developer talks to be held
G-CON 2026, held under the main theme of “narrative,” has unveiled additional speakers and sessions. The event will examine game narratives from diverse perspectives, ranging from conversations among creators working across animation and games to developers' stories about designing worlds and emotions.
Shōji Kawamori, the animation director and visionary creator who has led the Macross series for more than 40 years, and Kim Yong-ha, head of the IO Division at NEXON Games and executive producer of Blue Archive, will meet on the G-CON stage for the first time.
David Mervik of Little Nightmares, Carrie Xiao of Pacific Drive, and Greg Kasavin and Darren Korb of Hades will also gather in one place.
Ahn Geun-tae, head of art level, and Yoon Jin-ho, head of game engine graphics, will participate on behalf of Pearl Abyss's open-world action-adventure game Crimson Desert.
At Salon de G, four developers from the narrative and art fields will join as leaders, following Greg Kasavin and Darren Korb of Hades and Lee Jun-ho, creative director of The First Berserker: Khazan. Ariadna Martinez, senior writer for Ghost of Yōtei; Joanna Wang, art director for the same title; Cecil Kim, the art director who worked on the visual development of the God of War series and oversees the visuals for Sky: Children of the Light; and David Mervik, narrative director for the Little Nightmares series, will speak directly with participants.
Salon de G is a free, discussion-based program in which one or two leaders sit at a table with about 20 participants to engage in in-depth conversations about creative experiences, the industry and their professions.
Blizzard Entertainment's official Overwatch esports tournament for the Asia region, the Overwatch Champions Series Asia Stage 3 Grand Finals 2026, will be held at the BEXCO Auditorium over three days from November 20 to 22.
The tournament will feature the higher-seeded teams among the top eight teams that advanced through the regional qualifiers in Korea, Japan and the Pacific, competing fiercely for the title of Asia's strongest team. In addition to official OWCS Asia matches, the venue will host the final of the G-STAR Cup Student Tournament and a variety of accompanying programs. Holders of tickets for the relevant match days will also receive admission to the G-STAR BTC exhibition halls on the same day.
During the exhibition period, the 2026 Game Culture Festival, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), will also be held in BEXCO Exhibition Hall 2.
