Im Ha-su, Deputy Administrator of the Korea Forest Service (KFS), Attends the 2026 National Forest Managers’ Conference

[Financial News] The KFS announced that Deputy Administrator Im Ha-su attended the commemorative event for the 2026 National Forest Managers’ Conference held on the 29th at The Korean Studies Institute in Andong-si, North Gyeongsang Province, and encouraged the attendees. The conference serves as a forum where forest managers from across the country gather to discuss the future direction of Korea’s forestry industry and reaffirm their commitment to sustainable forest management.
  The conference brought together forest management stakeholders from across the country to share field experience and explore ways to maximize the economic and environmental value of forests. The event also included commendations and encouragement for individuals who have contributed to developing forest resources and strengthening the competitiveness of the forestry industry.
 In recent years, Korea’s forestry industry has faced multiple challenges, including an increase in forest disasters caused by climate change, an aging forestry workforce, and declining profitability in forest management. As a result, key priorities in forest management have emerged beyond simply planting and tending trees, including adding value to timber resources, utilizing forest biomass, and developing sixth-industry models linked to forest healing and recreation to create new sources of income for rural and mountainous communities.
 In his congratulatory remarks, Deputy Administrator Im said, "I hope this conference will be a meaningful opportunity for all of you forest managers to share your experiences and discuss a vision together for the future of Korea’s forests," adding, "Building on the voices from the field, we will actively pursue various forest policies to support forest managers."
