Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special Metropolitan City Office of Education and Samsung Electronics Join Hands to Strengthen Students' and Teachers' AI Capabilities

【Financial News, Jeonnam-Gwangju = Reporter Hwang Tae-jong】The Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special Metropolitan City Office of Education and Samsung Electronics have joined forces to strengthen the artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of students and teachers in Jeonnam-Gwangju.
 On the 29th, the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special Metropolitan City Office of Education announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Samsung Electronics that day in the situation room at its Gwangju headquarters to strengthen AI education capabilities.
 The agreement aims to cultivate future talent capable of leading the AI era by promoting AI education for students and teachers in Jeonnam-Gwangju through public-private cooperation.
 The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both organizations, including Superintendent Kim Dae-jung and Lim Seong-taek, head of Samsung Electronics Korea. The two sides agreed to establish a mutual cooperation system to strengthen the AI capabilities of teachers and students, including support for the 'AI Class Program' for students in Jeonnam-Gwangju and training to strengthen the AI education expertise of teachers in the region.
 Superintendent Kim Dae-jung said, "I expect this agreement with Samsung Electronics to expand opportunities for all students and teachers in Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special Metropolitan City to strengthen their AI capabilities," adding, "Through continued field-oriented support, K-Education Special City will lead efforts to enhance the quality of AI education."
 Samsung Electronics has already been operating a 'Public Education Support Program through AI Class' for a total of 105 elementary and middle schools and approximately 15,000 students in the Jeonnam-Gwangju area. It also plans to operate a training program for teachers responsible for AI education, which is expected to contribute to the expansion of field-centered AI education.
 Based on the agreement with Samsung Electronics, the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special Metropolitan City Office of Education also plans to establish a leading model in AI education and continuously explore medium- and long-term development plans for the education office through public-private cooperation.
