Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Demonstration Complex to Be Built in Saemangeum; KRW 106.6 Billion Invested

[Financial News, Gimje = Reporter Kang In] A demonstration complex for agricultural machinery incorporating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous driving will be built in Saemangeum, Jeonbuk State.
According to Jeonbuk State on the 29th, construction has begun on the Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Demonstration Complex in Section 5 of the Saemangeum Agricultural and Life Sciences Land in Gwanghwal-myeon, Gimje.
The complex will be built on a 100-hectare site by 2028 at a cost of KRW 106.6 billion. Gimje-si will implement the project, while the Korea Agriculture Technology Promotion Agency will carry it out under commission.
The project was designed to establish a foundation for testing the performance and safety of advanced agricultural machinery in real-world farming environments in response to the declining and aging agricultural workforce and the digital transformation.
Jeonbuk State expects the completed complex to establish a support system linking agricultural machinery development with field demonstrations, testing, and certification, thereby contributing to the development of a hub for the agricultural machinery industry.
A Jeonbuk State official said, "We will do our utmost to ensure that Saemangeum establishes itself as an innovation hub leading the intelligent transformation of South Korea’s agricultural machinery industry."
