Sangmidang Holdings Launches Training Program for Baristas with Disabilities

[Financial News] Sangmidang Holdings has launched coffee skills training to foster baristas with disabilities.
Sangmidang Holdings said on the 29th that it had jointly provided coffee skills training the previous day with Haengbokhan Foundation for five baristas with disabilities from Neulbom Café at the Seocho-gu Hanuri Protective Workshop in Sindaebang-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul.
The Seocho-gu Hanuri Protective Workshop is a vocational rehabilitation facility for people with disabilities operated by Caritas SEOUL under a commission from Seocho-gu Office.
Participants learned theory from professional instructors on B-R Korea's training team, including the characteristics of coffee beans by origin and the principles of espresso extraction. They also improved their skills through hands-on practice in espresso extraction and milk steaming.
The program was established as part of the 'Haengbokhan Bakery & Café' initiative, which supports people with disabilities in securing stable employment and achieving independence. As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, Sangmidang Holdings has provided cumulative support of 3 billion won for the opening and operation of cafés at vocational rehabilitation facilities for people with disabilities.
An official from Sangmidang Holdings said, "We will continue providing practical support so that baristas with disabilities can demonstrate their abilities by leveraging the company's expertise and training infrastructure."
