Lee Do-hyun advances to the final after topping the bouldering semifinal in bid for first Asian Games gold [Nagoya Asian Games]

[Financial News] South Korean men's sport-climbing standout Lee Do-hyun (Seoul Metropolitan Government, The North Face) got off to a smooth start in his bid for his first Asian Games gold medal.
Lee Do-hyun scored 99.7 points in the men's bouldering semifinal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, held on the 29th at the Nagoya International Exhibition Hall in Japan. He finished first among 15 competitors and advanced to the final.
Lee Do-hyun completed all four problems, including flashing Problems 2 and 4 on his first attempts, and delivered a steady performance.
Japan's Sorato Anraku placed second with 99.3 points. Anraku also completed all four problems, but he made more attempts than Lee Do-hyun and fell 0.4 points short.
Among the Korean competitors, Chon Jong-won (Daegu Sports Council, The North Face) also secured a place in the final by finishing sixth with 74.7 points. After failing on the first problem, he completed the remaining three and climbed the standings.
Lee Do-hyun won a silver medal in the men's combined event at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. Chon Jong-won won the inaugural men's gold medal at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games.
The two athletes will compete for medals in the final on the 30th. The final will feature two competitors from South Korea, two each from Japan and China, and one each from Thailand and Singapore.
