[Financial News] TeraView hit the intraday upper price limit after news broke that it had signed a semiconductor inspection equipment supply contract with a U.S. company.
On the 29th, TeraView was trading at KRW 4,355 as of 2 p.m. on the KOSDAQ, up 30.00% from the previous session. The stock opened at KRW 3,355, up 0.90%, and extended its gains before reaching the upper price limit at around 1:25 p.m.
TeraView announced that it had signed a KRW 1,361,464,000 supply contract with Covalent Metrology, a U.S. inspection and measurement company, for its semiconductor inspection equipment, 'Electro Optical Terahertz Pulse Reflectometry (EOTPR).' Covalent Metrology is a U.S. specialist company that provides quality and defect analysis services for semiconductor materials and devices.
EOTPR is a nondestructive inspection system that uses terahertz waves to detect and locate defects in internal interconnections without damaging semiconductor packages.
Meanwhile, TeraView was listed on the KOSDAQ last November. At the time, TeraView CEO Don Anon explained the decision to choose the KOSDAQ, saying, "That is because Korea and Asia have become TeraView's main stage," and added, "We also took into consideration that many of our major customers, particularly in the semiconductor industry, are based in Korea."
