Busan Metropolitan Council Opens One-Day "One-Point Special Session" Targeting Busan City's Organizational Reorganization

[Financial News] As the ninth popularly elected Busan administration, led by Jeon Jae-soo, moves to reorganize the city government, the Busan Metropolitan Council opened a one-day "one-point special session" targeting the reorganization.
According to the Busan Metropolitan Council on the 29th, the extraordinary session is being held for one day. It will consider agenda items, including ordinance bills, and conduct the first personnel hearing for a public institution head chaired by a standing committee under the reorganized system.

The session has nine major agenda items. One is a partial amendment to the Ordinance on the Organization and Operation of Negotiating Groups and Committees. The amendment reflects changes to the administrative organization, including the Busan mayor's secretariat, in the jurisdictions of the standing committees and newly establishes jurisdiction over the mayor's secretariat.
The council will also review a partial amendment to the Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Legislative Advisory Committee, which would increase the committee's authorized membership to 60.
In addition, the plenary session will give final approval to the administrative audit plans submitted by the seven standing committees in preparation for the administrative audits to be conducted during the regular session in November.
In particular, the Planning, Finance & Economy Committee held a personnel hearing for the candidate for head of Busan Techno Park starting at 11 a.m. This was the first hearing since the 339th extraordinary session expanded the scope of personnel hearings to all public institutions affiliated with the city and divided the vetting process between the personnel hearing special committee and the respective standing committees according to each institution's characteristics.
The day's proceedings began with the Operations Committee at 9:10 a.m., followed by the adoption of administrative audit plans by each standing committee at 9:30 a.m. After the first plenary session at 10 a.m. gave final approval to the agenda items, the personnel hearing for the head of Busan Techno Park was held by the Planning, Finance & Economy Committee.
